Once a Pokémon meets the condition, you choose when it evolves. Trade evolutions need a real Link Trade with another player, which unlocks after Main Mission 3. There is no Linking Cord. For friendship, drinks at a café and sitting on benches are the fastest. Friendship evolutions need 160, and the checker is at Café Pokémon-Amie on Autumnal Avenue after Side Mission 25.
