Common questions
What do Pokémon natures do?
Most natures raise one stat by 10% and lower another by 10%. Five natures (Hardy, Docile, Serious, Bashful and Quirky) change nothing. HP is never affected.
What is the best nature?
It depends on the Pokémon. Adamant and Jolly suit physical attackers, Modest and Timid suit special attackers. Search a Pokémon above for a suggestion based on its stats.
Can you change a Pokémon’s nature?
From Sword and Shield onward, a Mint makes a Pokémon’s stats follow a different nature. Its original nature still shows on its summary.
What do flavors do?
A nature that raises a stat likes the matching flavor, and one that lowers a stat dislikes it. This decides which berries and foods a Pokémon enjoys, and which confusion-healing berries can backfire.
